[9th Dawn III RPG]9th Dawn III: Shadow of Erthil, an open-world RPG, hits Switch next week

Open-world RPG 9th Dawn III: Shadow of Erthil launches for Nintendo Switch on Oct. 6. It’s trying to stand out from the pack though. It has a self-contained story, co-op, a unique combat system, and loads of side activities. This may be the only game you’ll need to keep you busy while you’re waiting in the spaces between major releases.

In 9th Dawn III: Shadow of Erthil?players take on a quest to save the world from destruction, and there are over 300 unique weapons, 550 armor types, and 270 monsters to discover.

Players can unlock spells for their character, one of which is the ability to slow down time. Each spell has an awesome on-screen affect that you can watch as it hurtles into your foes. You can also just bludgeon monsters to death with your axe if you fancy it though. In addition to a number of characters that will fight by your side, you can bring a friend along for the ride in co-op.

Adventuring isn’t all you can do in this game though. There’s armor and weaponry to be forged, recipes to be mastered through cooking, fish to catch, and even monsters to recruit. If none of that sounds appealing, then you could invest more time into the unique card game, Fyued. There are 180 cards to collect, and shiny variants of each. You can play this game against almost every NPC in the game, making it the envy even Gwent of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

This is a game that’s all about collecting a lot from your enemies and putting it to good use. However, it’s also got enough side activities that it provides that realistic feel of downtime for adventurers. 9th Dawn III: Shadow of Erthil will cost $15.99 when it launches on the Nintendo eShop next week, not a bad price for the number of hours you could invest.
